  • The School of Public and Community Health Sciences offers two options for students interested in pursuing Public Health education: the Masters of Public Health (MPH) and the Certificate of Public Health (CPH).

  • The School of Public and Community Health Sciences graduated a total of 17 students in 2013.   10 graduated with a Master in Public Health and 7 with a Certificate of Public Health.

  • The School of Public and Community Health Sciences has received the maximum five years of accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), effective July 1, 2012.  We are the first nationally accredited public health program in the state of Montana.

Background
Dr. Molgaard joined the School of Public and Community Health Sciences as Chair and Professor in August 2006. Dr. Molgaard brings to the post a distinguished career in public health leadership and a strong commitment to rural and international public health. Dr. Molgaard earned a B.A. from Iowa State University in Anthropology, an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in the Anthropology /Health and Medical Sciences Dual Degree Program at the University of California at Berkeley.

Prior to joining the School of Public and Community Health Sciences, Dr. Molgaard served as Chair and Professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, where he played a central role in establishing and maintaining national accreditation for their MPH program through the Council on Education for Public Health. Prior to this, Dr. Molgaard was the Associate Dean for Research at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Molgaard also served as Professor and Division Head in the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University and as a visiting professor at universities in England, Denmark and Germany.

Dr. Molgaard has published over 150 articles in the peer-reviewed literature and has held a number of public health related research grants and contracts. Dr. Molgaard acts as an international consultant and researcher; has acted as the Chair and member of over 100 graduate theses and dissertations and continues to act as a student mentor.
